When it comes to descriptors, this author's writing is lacking. Whether this is from a lack of real life experience or what doesn't matter, but that's the way it comes off. Here's a helpful hint-if you're going to write about freezing in a blizzard, go freeze in a blizzard so you get an actual feel for the cold and then you can really paint a picture of what it's like. Do a little research! Make it believable. Otherwise, the writing feels like nothing more than shallow drivel. Also troubling is the ending, or rather, the lack thereof. I understand that this is the first in a series, but the previews of the others to follow are centered around different characters, so it would be nice if the main characters in the original story had some kind of a conclusion before kicking them to the curb. Sorry if this sounds more like a critique than a review, but this author is capable of much better and we as readers deserve better. First time reading anything from this author and was very pleased with the entire book. There is a cliffhanger at the end, but of course with series, that is the normal and well worth it. This book is well written and easy to follow story line of a western romance. Had a hard time putting it down as I was wanting to find out just what happens from one page to the next. But you will have to get your copy so you can see just what I am talking about!
What do You think about Spurs And Lace (2014)?
Hate cliffhangers, book was very slow and had several tragic events that were very unrealistic.

Spurs and Lace was an unexpected jewel. It was funny, suspenseful, and romantic.
