“What is it?” shouted Evan over the roar of the engine after he wrenched open the door. “You see the inspector? She got here about half an hour ago.” Evan shook his head. He’d been so involved in his task, he hadn’t even stopped for his morning coffee break. “I don’t even want to hear about her. Until she’s gone, we won’t get cut any slack around here. It’s not the same without Cassidy in the office, either.” He missed driving to work with her in the mornings, giving her a private kiss before he’d head off to the pit. Break times were a chance to spend a few minutes with her, learn something new about the woman who’d quickly become the center of his universe. “She’s cute.” Evan frowned. “You serious?” Patrick shrugged. “Long dark hair and plenty of curves. Come see for yourself.” Although they’d all had their fair share of women before Cassidy moved to Climax, things were different now.
