They headed back to the base when they had packed her father’s car so full of treasures that there wouldn’t have been room for them to sit down if they purchased anything else. When they rolled up to the guard booth, Dani hoped that she would catch another glimpse of her fantasy soldier, but he was nowhere to be seen.
