Stranger On The Shore (Mirabelle Harbor, Book 4) - Plot & Excerpts
By Friday at noon, however, those pliers felt like an extension of my right hand, and I could estimate eight inches of cord at a glance, with accuracy. That was about the perfect length for a bracelet, if you left room to tie the ends and snip. My feeling of accomplishment at this was enormous enough to be almost embarrassing...but also joyous enough that I didn’t care. “You wanna pass me the charms box, honey,” Lorelei said, pointing toward the black canister that held most of the sterling-silver endangered animal and insect charms. “I need another panther.” We’d divvied up the different kinds of bracelets between us, so we’d have a good selection for tomorrow’s festival. While Abby and I were working on the stretchy ones, Lorelei and Joy were adding the finishing touches to the ones with clasps. I handed Lorelei the box, marveling at the lovely color combination she had going on with her current project—an entire bracelet family of panthers that were surrounded by beads that were yellow (like the eyes of a real adult Florida panther), tan (like their coats), creamy white (like their underbellies), and black (like the tips of their ears and tails).
