If you're looking for a book that has some of the finer written (gay) erotica, this is the book for you, my good friend. If you're looking for backstory and some plot, well, you might just be SOL. The book's main features were definitely about getting the two main characters together. What spices it up is the fact that A) one is a shifter, a werewolf to be exact. And B) while the two manage their sexual desire for each other, they both have to figure out each other (while thankfully not having to worry too much about military ranks.)Sexual encounters may come off odd and not so consensual at first, but Noah (the shifter) explains that it's not about the human side, it's all about how the werewolves interact. All in all, while things may not exactly make sense in this review or in the first few pages, Lucas (the main protagonist) and Noah stumble and get through their attraction of each other, while trying not to cross each other's lines of consent. It's a bit comedic, honestly. Stars: 3 1/2. This one was pretty fun. I liked the concept a lot. The relationship was cute but the author glosses over some of the relationship building with things like, we were both relaxed and laughing or saying the characters were talking, or had talked but then doesn't give us much of the actual dialogue for those conversations. In fact most of the dialogue is just them miscommunicating about what their bond really means. And speaking of the bond it was pretty frustrating by the end that they hadn't figured each other out yet. I mean come on you can feel everything the other one is feeling. Figure it out dudes. But I still really liked the world created by the author and it was an exciting read. I would recommend it for someone who is already a m/m romance fan.
