Stygian's Honor By Lora Leigh (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
I've seen reviews of this book and know there are a few disappointed readers ... for me it's been, probably about a year I think, that I've actually read a or picked up the latest 'Breed' novel so I actually LIKED this book. I've been waiting for Cassie's story since like forever and reading this book, re-familiarises (if that makes sense) you with the same coyote/wolf/lion breed characters from the previous favourite books. ☺ Loved Liza & Stygians story... Can't wait to read Claire's! Feeling the need to start on the next breed book!!! Woohoooo!!! Pros: I really like Lora Leigh's Breed series. It's original, and she does a great job at creating unique characters. Stygian's Honor was no exception. Both the hero and heroine were complicated enough to be interesting without crossing the line into too much angst, and the chemistry between them was scorching. The love scenes were hot, and this book had all the suspense, action, and intrigue I've come to expect from the series.Cons: As with any series, the longer it goes on, the more characters amass. I had a little trouble keeping track of all the different people in this book, never mind their allegiances and secret allegiances. The number of typos was sort of surprising for a Berkley book, though not a big deal. I also know my editor would never let me get away with all the "floating body parts" in there, but most readers probably don't care. The only other drawback was that I didn't feel the final love scene fit in with the rest of the book. It felt like the author just wanted to add something kinkier or more shocking at the end, and the anal sex scene seemed like it would have been better suited to a different book. That's just my opinion.Overall, I enjoyed the book.
