I normally don't bother writing negative reviews, but am making an exception in this case because I was so disappointed in this book. I read the third book in the series first and liked it, so was eager to go back and read the first two. If you like a selfish, immature male lead character that consistently hurts those he supposedly loves throughout the entire story, then this book is for you. If you like a weak, doormat female lead character (as well as other family members) that accept that type of behavior, then this book is for you. Otherwise, don't waste your money. This was a nice start to the series. It was a sweet romance. It was not a steamy read, so if that's what you're looking for then wait until you're in the mood for a second chance romance before you read Sugar Springs. It'll be worth the wait.Although it is a PG-13 romance, it is not without its angst, heartbreak, and betrayal. Lee Ann and Cody were quite the pair as they tried to figure out if they could let go of their pasts and make being a family work out. And the cast of characters that reside in Sugar Springs made their struggles that much more fun to witness. Sugar Springs was a well written book and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
