4.5 stars--I have had Anna Martin books on my TBR list for a couple years. I even have a few on my Kindle. I don't know why it's taken me this long to finally read one, but I'm certainly glad I did. She writes well--cleanly, concisely, with no hint of a feminine touch. This was a great story with fine MCs. The steam was good and plentiful, and there was also a bit of angst--though not too much. I look forward to reading more from Anna Martin soon. This book is sweet, sexy in the right places and takes a slightly different angle on an old theme in this genre. I liked how Anna did the single father of adorable baby meets perfect man. With it being based in NY and after the new marriage laws - this allowed for a refreshing 'newness' to come into things. While yes there could have been more angst I am glad it didnt go there. There was a huge potential for it to become angst driven bus it is not in any way.Its probably one of the more 'realistic' of the super sweet baby romances I like. So this one was perfect for my mood. Why not 5 stars? It was lacking something for me, I have tried to pinpoint what and I think I would have enjoyed a little more emotional depth and connection between ME and the main characters. We are 'told' more then shown how they are feeling and we never delve really deep into either of the MCs psyche. While yes I love this book and really like these characters...i was not overly invested in them either.I also do not get the title or the front cover - they in no way match the book.
