She wasn’t really seeing her aunt; she was looking down what seemed to her to be a long lane of a telescope, and trying to get a glimpse of a picture that would give her some idea of what had happened.“Stephen?” she whispered, and because Mrs. Wilmott didn’t reply immediately she uttered the name again and lifted her head from the pillow.
