Superman Action Comics, Cilt 1: Superman Ve Çelik Adamlar (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
I really enjoyed this comic. I'm a fan of Grant Morrison and Superman, so this was a perfect find. I like the questions asked in the comic: where does the "s" come from? When did he get called "Superman?" Where did the uniforms come from? Is he Clark pretending to be Superman or the other way around? I think these are the newer questions comics are starting to play with and answer today. My only issues were some points seemed to lack clarity. You definitely needed to be a seasoned comics reader to know how to follow some of the skipped storyline. And I felt that the ending was extremely abrupt for such large build-up. Again, this is my age-old issue with botched endings coming out in my review. Sure it's got places to go from here, but even volume one needs a satisfying ending. Overall, a fun and exciting read worth your time. Wow, great stuff! I really love the first four issues portraying Superman as the first superhero exploding to public awareness before the "age of superheroes" begins. The fight with Braniac was awesome.And then issues 5 and 6! Had to read these veryyy slowly to understand what was going on, even re-reading pages to orient myself, lol. Superman's origin, Krypton's demise, a semi-sentient rocket ship, fast-forwarding five years from the events of #4, a team of superheroes from a thousand years in the future who idolized Superman when they were kids, and an "anti-Superman" squad hiding in Superman's brain, all in the span of two issues. Was a little convoluted, but epic when you "get" it all! Great stuff.

As usual, when he's good, Grant Morrison is incredible and when he's not, he's incomprehensible.
