MaryLu Tyndall is a great writer and Surrender the Heart is no exception! Marianne Denton and Noah Brenin both agree to marry the other for reasons that have nothing to do with love. Marianne needs to marry to unlock the inheritance that will help her ailing mother receive medical care while Noah agrees to the engagement in an attempt to please his father. In an attempt to prove his worth to his father, Noah walks out on their engagement party with Marianne chasing him down and ending up on his ship. Unfortunately this is only the beginning of their troubles as Noah's ship encounters a British War Vessel that forces the couple to serve in the British Navy. It's a great story with great history and pretty relatable characters. Marianne being considered "plain and plump" and Noah trying desperately to please his father. The supporting characters were well written as well. I loved the story and can't wait to read the next one in the series. What a beautiful, romantic, Christian historical romance! Great writing style, captivating story, WONDERFUL Christian message! I love this book! I like it sooooooo much that Marianne Denton is a normal looking lady but her beautiful spirit makes her the most beautiful woman in the world for Noah Brenin. I like it much more than the main heroine being a great beauty like in most of the romances. I don't think the main heroine has to be ugly but she can be sweet and normal looking (like most of us) and beautiful to the man that fell in love with her. After all beauty is in the eye of the beholder.... It is the first book written by MaryLu Tyndall that I've read and it sure inspired me to read more!
Once again I leave quite satisfied! I just love these books...keep them coming!
