Frustrated, she stooped down, picked up a rock and threw it into the dark recesses. She paced, hovering close to the fire she had conjured. The damp cold of the cave seeped into her bones, making her shiver. To top off her crappy day, the fire flickered and went out. The complete darkness didn’t faze her as she whipped her wand out, pointing it at the pile of wood. “Dóiteáin,” she muttered. An orange flame shot from the tip and rekindled the flame. Her thoughts were whirling through her head. Her plan for Suvi’s mate to be executed had failed and she had no doubt those pretentious witches were planning a mating at that very moment. She had trusted that Angelica would stick to their plan of weakening the witches, so she’d given her the location of their home, but that ungrateful sorceress had used the opportunity for another attempt at her endgame. Of course, Angelica had failed because she’d gone in half-cocked and allowed her emotions to dictate her actions.
