Satisfying story about an idyllic town, Serenity, NC, where a beaten-down woman find herself and starts fresh with a new love, a former MLB star from the Boston Red Sox. Story was a 3, a lovely escape into fictional wonderland where there are happy endings. But the reading was absolutely atrocious, portraying a 21 year-old daughter in a "valley girl" voice and Mary Vaughn's husband as a derelict. Sometimes the reader adds to the story, sometimes the reading is neutral, but in this case, the reader was a HUGE negative on the story. I've begun listening to another of Sherryl Woods' books, and there's a different reader - hallelujah. Sarah Price has been verbally abused by her ex. She and her two small children move home to Serenity. Travis is a former big time baseball player now out of the game. He comes with a reputation of love em and leave em. He moves to Serenity. Travis falls in love with Sarah. He starts a radio station and hires Sarah to do a talk show. Sarah is forced to make a big jump in self esteem, She realizes life has no promises, but decides to take a chance on love. This is a very feel good book. I enjoyed the read.

Mild and harmless as a romance, but very likeable characters.
