Swoon (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

Zero STARS"Sin is Coming...Prepare to Swoon!Torn from her native New York City and dumped in the land of cookie-cutter preps, Candice is resigned to accept her posh, dull fate. Nothing ever happens in Swoon, Connecticut...until Dice's perfect, privileged cousin Penelope nearly dies in a fall from an old tree, and her spirit intertwines with that of a ghost. His name? Sinclair Youngblood Powers. His mission? Revenge. And while Pen is oblivious to the possession, Dice is all too aware of Sin. She's intensely drawn to him - but not at all crazy about the havoc he's wreaking. Determined to exorcise the demon, Dice accidentally sets Sin loose, gives him flesh, makes him formidable. Now she must destroy an even more potent - and irresistible - adversary, before the whole town succumbs to Sin's will. Only trouble is, she's in love with him." (From Amazon)I did not like one character, and the love story was demented and lame. It's been awhile since I was a teen but really is that how it is now days? "What the FUCK did I just read?" pretty much sums up my experience with this book. The characters, the plot, the whole idea... Confusing and just plain odd! The writing style is interesting. It contains a wide word choice variety, which was pleasant, but while others find this book written incredibly well, I find the words to be a flowery distraction from the uniquely odd story-line. I may read the next one (because a majority of readers say it is better), but I don't know if I will be able to suffer through the whole thing.
