There were three stages of reading this book:Chapter 1- a half of Chapter 2: I was not sure if I liked it or not. The stream of consciousness nature required a certain reading time from readers to get into the mood of this book.the rest of Chapter 2-a half of Chapter 4: Once I got into the mood, I was so drawn to this book, which felt like achieving a soul mate in life. I became a bit sad as I marched towards the end of the book. I wondered if I could find a book like this to which I related so much.the rest if the book: I just wanted to finish it. The parameters of this internal dialog are very interesting: minutely observed details of the nonverbal communications surrounding any kind of conversation and a constant shifting in and out of layers of self-consciousness and the unavoidable irony of engaging with the terms of consensus reality. The events and the relationships per se are not very interesting. At least not to me. There is a certain amount of insight into how people interact at this level, with that distant note of desperation produced by the vibration of a personality unsure it wants to be heard or engaged with. But that alone won't carry me through the book.
Not a joy to read but pretty good to talk about.
