Our 4 Star ReviewWillow is alone and dealing with cancer after one of her treatments trying to escape a nurse who's trying to make sure she has someone to drive her home so runs into Asher as in literally runs into him. There's something special about the woman who ran into him and it's not just because she threw up on his shoes. Debating about coming back to the center after being told when Willow's next appointment is, ultimately his late wife helps him decide to go after the only woman to interest him after Olivia's death 3 years earlier. Olivia comes to them throughout the story in dreams helping them accept each other. This is simply a story about accepting the love of someone else, even if you weren't looking for it. Willow is so strong for having gone through her first few treatments by herself, but allowing herself to open up to Asher in her time of struggle shows she's even stronger. Asher is such a sweetie and seeing him allow himself to love again after being widowed for 3 years I loved how the story unfolded. This was a beautiful read about survival and opening yourself up to love. Cancer sucks, and if it hits while your single, what hope do you have of finding someone to love? Or for that matter, do you even want to? Willow Emery is a smart, career-orientated woman and doesn't let cancer get in her way. She tries handling it all on her own. Her mother is out of the picture and she doesn't really have any friends. Finally, though, what appears to be a rude nurse urges Willow to get rides to and from chemo treatments; its the rules, she insists. Willow doesn't heed her comments, but on her way sneaking out, or rather rushing out of the treatment, she runs directly into Asher...and vomits! Not the way you pictured finding a potential mate, right? Well, Willow has to decide if she wants to take a chance on this. So does Asher. In fact, the story alternates between Willow and Asher's points of view. It works well, too. Although at times the story may seem fast-paced, it works and doesn't bog you down. If you like romances, I totally suggest you read this. However, if you're looking for detailed sob story on cancer, not so much. This isn't a John Green or Lurlene McDaniel type of novel; this is pure romance, and I loved it!
