I had to clean up after a kid who barfed up his cotton candy, and I had to fill in for Mark, who was sick, and clean up the east side of the park. You would think working for the world's most popular amusement park would be...well, a little more amusing. But it's actually the worst summer job I've ever had—and I held up signs dressed up as a hamburger everyday one summer. So you can imagine I wasn't particularly thrilled when my boss, Frank, asked me to clean out the Giant Spiders’ food bin. "Isn't that for someone with... you know, animal experience?" I said, wincing at the thought of going near those vicious creatures with soulless eyes. "The Maelbics are closed off from the feeding room right now. They can't get to it. Don't give me a hard time with two weeks left, alright?" His dark brows raised over his smoldering eyes before he turned his gaze back down to the stack of papers at his desk. I sighed, pushing my cleaning cart out of his office. Paying for college wasn't easy, and in my interview I had acted like I wanted nothing more than to work for Giant Bug Emporium.
