Tales Of Terror (Stepping Stones) (2007) - Plot & Excerpts

Here is a very short chapter book that includes abridged versions of a few of Edgar Allen Poe's short stories. They are going to be read with ease by the average 5th or 6th grader. They are really not all that much different from the original works, just tightly edited and have had some of the flowery excess removed. The stores included are The Masque of the Red Death, The Cask Of Amontillado, The Tell-Tale Heart and the Pit and the Pendulum. I figure I can bring this back out next Halloween (2011) and my little beginner reader will be able to read one of my favorite scary story writers right along with me.
