Karin really did make enough of a racket to drag me out of bed at eight in the morning. She even forbade me my morning coffee - despite my forceful protests - and we hit the road as soon as I was decently dressed. I grumbled about the lack of coffee for awhile, then fell asleep in the car. When I woke up, we were already heading through the pass. She noticed that I was awake.
