The first Novella from Andrea Cremer. It is pretty much a short prequel to Nightshade. It is in the perspective of Shay. His uncle Bosque decided that he will move and live in Rowan Estate. Shay has no choice but to comply. When he says goodbye to his friends, his one friend decides to make him a Facebook page to keep in touch. Shay wasn't one for Social Media, but went along with it anyway. After living in the empty estate was bigger than any building he had ever seen, he started waking up at night scared half to death. He decided to do some research on what was scaring him by taking videos and pictures of the weird looking statues all over the place, only every time he videotaped the demon-looking statues, his camera would go fuzzy and blur the image. His friends from Facebook help him figure out what was going on. The one rule his uncle gave him was to not venture into the library. But to figure out what was going on in the house, Shay decided to hell with it and went inside anyway. He started doing some research and sends out some of the books for help. After he was done for one day he decided to go for a hike and ends up face to face with a bear... and then that is where Nightshade begins. Love it! I can’t believe I was able to read this. IT was full of SHAY! SHAY! SHAY! THE title even shouts SHAY! (SHdow+dAYs= SHAY)..because it was SHAY narrating! wow. Anyway, I tried to read without biases and read as a “professional reader” (there’s no other term for it,haha..). I admit that I pitied Shay because he was so alone in that giant freaky mansion, but my pity doesn’t change the fact that I still hate him (note, i pitied him pre-Calla days, when he didn’t yet disrupt the ORIGINAL Ren-Calla love team haha). Anyway, Shadow Days shows us Shay’s perspective, and basically everything that happened to him immediately before meeting Calla. My friend and I were thinking that making this novella was one of Andrea’s way to buy back people from team REn to team Shay. But, it didn’t work for me, I’m still solid team Ren!IT’S ONLY FAIR IF REN HAS HIS OWN NOVELLA RIGHT? SIGH...
What do You think about Temné Dny (2000)?
I very much enjoyed this Novella. Looking forward to the new book in Feb!
