Tempt Me At Twilight - Godaan Di Senja Hari (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

I liked Poppy...but only when she wasn't with Harry. I found him intriguing in the beginning and thought it was an interesting start...but I ended up hating him for like 80-90% of the novel since no matter what, I just couldn't see what there was to like able him. I tried--I did!--but there was nothing about him I found appealing about him. I remember hating Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent, a lot before going into Devil in Winter (as I'm sure a lot of people did). Just like Harry, he's seen as a villain. The difference for me, though, was that Sebastian was charming and likable and he won me over with that throughout the book. Harry didn't. Honestly, I only really liked the parts about Miss Marks (and insightful Beatrix). This story is a new twist on the Beauty and The Beast theme: Beauty is intelligent, well read, and a witty conversationalist. The Beast is a tremendously wealthy hotelier, who is frustrated by others, has more enemies than he can count, and has never been loved by anyone.Upon meeting Beauty he instantly knows he MUST have her, and steals her away from her own prince-not-so-charming. A lovely, easy read... perfect for an overcast day, but let's face it: LEO stole my heart in book one and steals each scene he's in in this book too. I loved every bit of him in this book. Every sarcastic, masculine, hilarious, casual, rakish, family-devoted bit. I am all anticipation because the next one is about him!!! I am sure my devotion to Leo is somewhat unhealthy. Could it be that Kleypas has created not just one but two completely tortured, flawed, unforgetable and complex heroes (St Vincent being the other, of course)??! I really hope #4 of the Hathaways doesn't disappoint, but I rest easy because it seems Miss Kleypas is unable to write anything but an utterly enjoyable read!

What do You think about Tempt Me At Twilight - Godaan Di Senja Hari (2010)?

I think this is the worst of the series. I'd ended up reading it after book 4 &5, but I think I almost would have been better off skipping this one. A few things that bugged me was the constant TSTL misunderstandings and the vacillation w' Harry's intentions toward Poppy. "I'm going to be nice to her until she loves me" turns into "I'm going to be mean to her because of some imagined slight!" within paragraphs. Then there were issues with a certain side character. The whole "Ermagherd, she's BLONDE and thus pretty!" moment had me wanting to throw the book across the room. Then a character miraculously had some crucial information in this book, but in book 4 it was stated several times that she didn't even know the guy. However, there were still plenty of AWWWWW and LOL moments to keep me engaged and I still loved reading about the family. Also, book 4 and 5 did not disappoint.

I confess in the first half of the book, I had doubts whether I'd love it like the others because I didn't like Harry Rutledge and his cold ways. And what he did to get Poppy was ruthless considering she was in love with another man.BUT... of course, as it turned out I loved it. The last half of the book was when Harry started to show who he really was and how he felt for Poppy. I loved him so. Michael Bayning had nothing on him. Next book, please.

Though I am reading the series out of sequence, the books have been fun and entertaining.
