Tempting The Billionaire (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

32. Tempting the billionaire- Jessica Lemmon “Drunk can be good, but by the time you get close enough to find out; it´s too late” “Crying chicks either have to much baggage, or they´re wasted.” “Shane felt an inexplicable, almost gravitational pull toward her, his feet urging him forward even as his brain raised one argument after the next.” “The moment he locked on to her bright blue eyes, his heart galloped to life, picking up speed as if running for an invisible finish line” “ He hadn’t made it this far by allowing himself to be distracted by a pretty face. And she had distracted him.” “She smiled back at him, her gold-brown eyes open and inviting” “If she was nervous before, it was nothing compared to how she felt now. Like her adrenal glands were doing the cha-cha after a double espresso.” “Horses were pretty. Sunsets, pretty. Crickitt was gorgeous.” “He sent her a warm smile, one that made her mouth go dry” “Shane offered his hand and she took it, and like the night at the club, his palm tingled on contact.” “He’s charming and funny in this oddly genuine way.” “Okay, she wasn’t just good company. He liked her. Liked the way she asked questions and was genuinely interested in his answers. Liked the way she waited for the right moment to interrupt him when he was deep in thought. She was good for him.” “Rules are made to be broken.” “How had she managed to turn this into an erotic experience?. Look at him. He is and erotic experience.” “She froze like a butterfly on a board, pinned into place by his golden gaze. Shane’s eyes dropped to her mouth for the briefest second before he emitted a low grunt of approval, and she could swear he leaned in just the slightest bit closer. And then it was as if every cell in her body moved in conjunction with his. Like a magnet being pulled to metal, she breached the distance between them and touched her lips to his. His mouth was firm, warm, and tasted every bit as good as it looked. The low moan rumbling between them came from her this time. Her eyes flew open.” “Shane was a distraction, a preoccupation she hadn’t counted on, and becoming increasingly hard to resist.” “So if she liked him, and he liked her, why the boundaries?” “If the woman only knew how crazy she made him…” “He’d tried to keep a professional distance, but trying not to notice Crickitt only made him notice her more.” “As she hovered close, he couldn’t escape the sugary scent of her. His mouth watered.” “Shane briefly pressed his palm on the small of her back. A fiery trail licked her spine, and she inadvertently tensed” “Bad idea, her brain reminded her. But she couldn’t get a single other part of her body to agree.” “How could she be unaffected while he tried—and failed—to think of anything but her?” “She obliged and his tongue swept into her mouth. She tasted of peppermint and thick, hot passion. She gave as good as she got, gripping his tie and dragging him closer, her teeth scraping his bottom lip. She freed the knot with a sharp yank, and he heard the rasp of silk as she slipped the tie through his collar and tossed it aside.” “And again, he felt powerless to resist her.” “Unbelievable. Even his feet were attractive.” “I like that in a woman.” “kissing him until he stole the oxygen from her lungs” “Drunk from his potent kisses” “The lingering taste of Shane and chocolate mingled on her lips. And she wanted more.” “She’d missed this. Mutual attraction. Being held, pampered, adored. Being kissed by a man because he wanted her” “The way it caused her heart to swell against her rib cage as if it were ready to burst.” “This conversation came sooner than he preferred. Like never. Never would have been better.” “I want to be with you, Crickitt.” “He reached out to her with his eyes, too afraid if he touched her she´d recoil.” “He leaned a palm on the countertop behind him and stared down at her. When his eyes met hers, they softened, inviting her to him, drawing her in. Like a moth to the flame” “Just being close to him caused her body to tingle with awareness. Memories of pressing against his chest, the feel of his lips, swamped her. It had been too easy to get lost in the feel and smell of him” “Shane in charge of her heart, her feelings, her future…now that was worrisome.” “Because for the first time in his life, he was willing to draw his sword in a woman’s honor. Crickitt was worth fighting for.” “-Thanks- he said. Her eyebrows pinched. -For? -For all your help, for letting me drag you down here. For…being you-.” “Once she’d looked into his amber eyes and found distant warmth, but now she saw familiarity, friendship. Love.” “He sank into her, consuming her in the fire that had been burning between them since the moment they met.” “Around her he felt like a kite in the wind, helplessly tethered to her, following wherever she led.” “He’d have to be superhuman to keep from reacting to this woman.” “You make me forget what it´s like to be with anyone else.” “Time is money: Stop and smell the roses.” “You´re becoming a habit.” “The intense look on his face highlighting the spark behind his eyes. That spark excited her and made her nervous.” “For the first time in his adult life, Shane felt needed, and like he needed someone.” “Their relationship had advanced without his permission, without his knowledge. Crickitt had utterly invaded his life.” “He liked how, when she was around, he thought of the future rather than the past, or sometimes didn’t think at all, just got lost in the smell of her skin.” “If he could lose himself in her, if simply being in her arms made him forget everything else, then he was in bigger trouble than he thought. Spending time with someone, passing the hours, was different from needing someone.” “She woke up missing him” “Their relationship was shifting, moving them closer to one another. But it wasn’t a tectonic plate shift happening gradually and quietly over many millennia. This was more of a seven-point-oh-on-the-Richter-scale earthquake forcing them together.” “He took us out not because he was trying to be generous, but because he is.” “It didn’t keep Crickitt from invading his thoughts, though. Just thinking of her made his chest hurt, his eyes burn. And he’d thought about her often. Too often.” “Can you be glad and terrified to see someone at the same time?” “This was about more than taking care of him, more than making love to him, even more than saving him. Crickitt wanted to be with him because he’d taken half her heart and held it hostage.” “He loved her with everything he had. And it still wasn’t enough.” “I just realized I´m in love with you, God help me.” “He was the fire, volatile, unpredictable. She was more like the wood, willingly being ravaged to her ultimate demise.” “And she’d fallen in love with him. Loved him so much, the unspoken words burned her throat. She refused to say them.” “She wanted to be wanted. She needed to be wanted.” “Loving Crickitt was one thing. But building a life with her, seeing her day in, day out, coming to rely on her, need her. Becoming entrenched in her.” “The truth was the truth.” “Shane was incredible.” “I don’t know how to stop loving Shane, either. I’ve tried hating him, I’ve tried ignoring him. Nothing works” “Being with her is as easy as breathing in and out.” “Every second is a blessing. I wouldn’t change a single bit of it.” “I love you Crickitt and I don´t want to lose you.” “-Wait, I love you too.- -Thank God-.” “From partners in business, to partners in life.” 3.5 starsIt started good but then it drags on about wanting but halting what they want. Keep on yearning and then when they succumb they stop again. Decide already peeps. Do you guys get together for good or not?It was an okay book to read. Just feel there's something that's missing. The only thing that keeps me reading it because I've read Shane was inspired by Henry Cavil.I do want to read Aiden and Sadie's story.

What do You think about Tempting The Billionaire (2013)?

Typical romance nothing special about characters. Male lead needs to be tougher and more autocratic
