This book read like a really long dust jacket. It was interesting and intriguing, and I the whole time I thought this would make a really great book. All the right stuff was there, it just was like having a sample portion instead of the buffet. For instance, Wilber. His character relationship and the dynamic between his dual aspects in regard to Brant would have made an exceptional story, but we didn't get to live it and discover it. We were made aware of it. It was always the great synopsis of a great story, but never the story itself. I often found myself wondering just what the story was about, what was I waiting for to see what would happen. More of a fictional memoir than a fictional novel. This book is all about making tough choices and surviving the consequences. It makes you question your own ideas of right vs. wrong and good vs. evil. There are several points where the story doesn't flow, like when it switches from a memory to the present from one sentence to the next without any indication that the memory is over. It could definitely benefit from an editor, but it's a really great story despite the technical weaknesses of the writing.
What do You think about That's What Brothers Do (2000)?
Don't know why people shelf this as BDSM. It's abuse and rape, the whole book is a mess of violence.

Twists and turns I didn't expect. Really good storytelling. Dark but satisfying ending.

Story got 5 stars but due to lack of editing I could only give it 4 stars.
