The 17 Day Diet: A Doctor's Plan Designed For Rapid Results (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
Just started this diet 5 days ago. Poorly written, but getting results.... 4 lbs down already. :)Not quite 4 months later and I'm changing my rating to 5 stars from 3. I forgive the writing and 90% of the book. I have been following this diet (actually only loosely and only phase 2) for not quite 4 months and am down 35 pounds. I feel so much better, healthier! I don't feel that I am on a diet at all and I'm never hungry. My doctors have been very supportive of this lifestyle change and aren't concerned over my rapid loss. I am 10 pounds away from a healthy BMI for the first time in years! YAY! I like the concept of having cycles within a diet to help keep you going. But I struggle with accepting the food options - it seems very low calorie and extremely low carb, especially in the first cycle. I'm also a bit irritated with the author's writing style - he seems to be writing specifically toward women (even if it is the majority of the target audience), and flat out assumes the reader starts out as a heavy woman who consumes tons of candy, pizza, soda, pasta, etc and never exercises. I'm sorry, but that simply does not describe me at all. And even if it did, I'd be pretty insulted (although that may be the point).
What do You think about The 17 Day Diet: A Doctor's Plan Designed For Rapid Results (2011)?
This diet seems pretty easy to follow and he is actually very funny in his writing style.
