The 3 Mistakes Of My Life (2008) - Plot & Excerpts
Another Chetan Bhagat thing. So, this leaves me with the review of Revolution 2020 and What Young India Wants. I've already read the former, but not the latter, for some reason. When I got this to read after One night at the call center, it felt like a good book. When you start telling the story of three good friends ( I wonder why its always three though!!!), it's not something boring. This was no different. When the aspiring businessmen Govind, happy goer Ishaan and the religious Omi, join hands, that could produce a hell of a story. He has tried to bring the social topic- communal violence in the story and has cooked well the humor part and how some boys are still good by heart. Even though I personally think there is nothing wrong to fall in love with friend's sister (as long as he knows it), I have to admit, Govind had some nerve. In the end, like every happy ending stories, the three friends take Ali, for a cricket session. Verdict: A nice book to read for those who expect love, business, religion (which are the essential 3 mistakes of Govind's life) in a story. I love the way the story begins and ends. The protagonist is Govind patel, who starts a sport store with the help of his other two friends Ishaan and Omi. Omi is a son of priest and Ishaan is a good Cricket player. The story describes about various things like #EarthQuake in Gujarat, #Loving Friends Sister, #Hindu_Muslim_antagonism, #3_Mistakes, #Mistake_1-Paying Huge advance to a mall destroyed in earthquake, #Mistake_2-Loving best friend's sister and having sexual intercourse, #Mistake_3-diving a bit later for saving Ali, which affects Ali's wrist.I was not impressed with the movie #Kai_Po_Che which is based on the novel. I like the climax in the book, but not in the movie.
