The Ballerina & The Fighter (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Series: BALLERINA #1Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance, N/AReceived from: Ursula Sinclair (in exchange for an honest review)Tour arranged by: Read Between the LinesRecommended for: 18+ due to sexual content and violenceGrammar/editing: ungraded / received as an ARC (I made some editing notes on my copy)This is book one of the Ballerina series and they do need to be read in order. What began as a summer romance has become for both Ivy, the ballerina, and Maze, the MMA fighter, the definition of love. After studying in Japan, Maze has returned to the U.S. and is in New York. He cannot resist going to see Ivy dance. He cannot resist texting her. He cannot resist her. Read the last word and said, “that bitch!” My husband and son, both, knew I meant an author (Sorry, Ursula) and that it meant a cliffhanger. It’s not really a cliffhanger. This book has a decisive beginning, middle, and end, but the end tells you there is a book two coming. Thank God book 2, MAZE is now available and I will be reading it immediately. For the people who had to wait, I feel your pain!My only complaint regarding the editing is in the vocabulary during the sex scenes. Ms. Sinclair needs to relax and use the nasty words instead of the clinic ones. The vocabulary choices pushed me out of the reading zone. I did receive this as an ARC, so I hope this was corrected prior to final release. I am not a big MMA fan and had that been mentioned from the beginning I probably would have refused to read this book, however, I am SO glad I did. The Ballerina and The Fighter was intense in every way imaginable. There was so much going on constantly that the author had you on your toes from beginning to end. The connection between the characters, I can only compare to Romeo and Juliet. Two completely different people from different worlds fighting everything to be together, including themselves. I can't wait to see what Ursula Sinclair has in store for us next, the cliff hanger at the end of this story left me wanting so much more. And let me tell you Maze is just HOT!!! I don't think I could get enough of him, no wonder Ivy couldn't forget about him.
