Extremely important book about an extremely important topic, but so complicated to get through with the Wall Street terminology, and I've been to business school for both undergrad and grad school. However, even if you don't understand CDO tranches and buy/sell lingo, there is something big to the message behind the book: anyone who is not an institution in the American stock market is eventually going to get screwed. Caveat emptor. Everyone in the US should read this book to get a clear understanding of how the Great Recession came about.Lewis is a very accomplished writer. He keeps you engaged as you meet 4 or 5 different investors/firms and experience first hand the total craziness. Believe me, it's actually entertaining! There are some amazing moments. The "good-guy" investors identified the crooked markets and were successful. Our heroes won. I couldn't put it down. I'm ready when the mortgage market heats up again. It will. The same players are still there.
