The Book Of Awesome (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

The perfect book to help you realize that life really isn't all that bad. It removes you from the complicated rat race life (assuming that's how you live) and helps you enjoy the simple joys of life. A small example is that in most cars, the low fuel light has an arrow pointing to which side of your vehicle the gas tank is on. How awesome is that? No longer do you have to look like a fool rearranging your parking job after incorrectly pulling into your allotted gas filling lane. Read this book while getting rid of all your distractions. The phone. The laptop. The social media. The TV. Go to a quiet place, and allow the book to "speak" to you, helping you realize that everyday life is actually pretty awesome, regardless of your situation or circumstances. This book reaffirms that it's the simple joys in life that can mean so much, we just too often take those simple things for granted, and don't appreciate them as we should. I found this book to be one I could only read in short periods, as I had lunch, sat in the doctor's office, or as I iced my knee....certainly not intended for deep reading! It reminds me of the Jerry Seinfield show, which touches on every day occurrences. Pasricha makes no bones about how his book came to be. He felt he had to write daily about something positive in his life, and he did just that on a web site. He infused a positive spin into his blogs; typically they do make you smile. I do believe reading it can be uplifting, however. One day after reading a bit from the book, I suggested to a grumpy lab assistant that she could have a lot of fun guessing people's ages, before she reviews their information charts. She ignored me and said, "Can you spell your first name and last name....correctly? And what is your birth date?"After giving her the correct answers, I said, "Were you close?"She replied...."I would have to do the math!" Awesome!I think we can all think of some awesome stories......
