OH MY FLUFFING GOD. I NEED TO WAIT A YEAR FOR THE NEXT BOOK? WHAT THE FUCK. HOLY SHIT, AM NOT STABLE RIGHT NOW.A bittersweet love I relished watching bloom!!!!I really liked the pace of the novel, how the love story in particular - was unveiled in delicate, purposeful stages. It was thoughtfully structured and I really liked that it wasn't rushed whatsoever - not forced (EXTREMELY RARE IN RECENT BOOKS I'VE READ); almost natural; despite the fragility of the circumstances (nawt surprised). It was purrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect An interesting mix of elements from the Matched trilogy (arranged marriages in a post-apocalyptic future) and the Blackcoat Rebellion series (monarch-type government, protagonist just a - mostly unwilling, choice out of her hands- pawn for something mostly out of her control). Really enjoyed this and glad I gave it a second chance (wasn't in the mood for this genre last time I tried). Found Ivy's character to be interesting, and I loved watching her grow throughout the books. Really hope certain characters get what's coming to them in book two (names not specified for possible spoilers). And really interested to see where book two will take us. The whole Ivy/Bishop relationship was predicted, but it came together in a natural, well-paced way.If you're looking for action/a bad ass(assin) heroine, you won't find it here - not that that's a bad thing - but who knows where book two will lead, especially considering how the book ended.
What do You think about The Book Of Ivy (2014)?
Surprisingly it was quite original and good.
