Both he and Sherry were single and past the age of consent. Consent to what? Garrett snorted. A body would think something had happened between them. One kiss did not an affair make. But there were kisses...and kisses. The smart thing to do was end all contact between them outside of work. Sherry hadn’t seemed enthusiastic about going with him to St. Louis, anyway. It’d be a simple matter to say he’d changed his mind. Except he hadn’t. His son would be disappointed. Who was he kidding?
