I really liked the positive values in this book for teenage girls. There is one reference to making out with her boyfriend that I wish was skipped. But other than that I really felt like this book sends a message of be your best self and stand up for what is right, not what you think people want or what people pressure you to do. So often the girl power books deal with girls being gritty--which is fine, but it was nice to see the balance of strong girls who were girly too! This book is very interesting and sort of relates to me in so many ways and I really enjoy these kind of stories. This book relates to me in the way that when you have a crush; we as girls want to know everything that happens with that guy and want to know everything he does. In the story Emily the really shy girl has a friend named Rose and one day they met a guy named Thomas, Emily felt really shy because he was cute. At school she’s known as the ‘Stalker.’ She is known by this name because every time she likes a guy or is interested in one she starts to stalk them. Rose, Emily’s friend is afraid that she begins freaking Thomas out by “stalking” him. Throughout the story a lot happens. Emily gets a makeover and starts hanging out with popular people that hang out with Thomas. She goes out to parties with Rose and Thomas’ girlfriends. Thomas starts to show a lot of interest in her when they go out places with friends and have conversations a lot and laugh. Thomas after Emily’s makeover thinks she is really pretty and realizes that he likes her. Almost to the end of the story, they go to a bowling party. Emily wears this tight red dress that shows off her body. Thomas is very happy and nervous. He realizes that he feels something for her. So he gets a drink for her at the party and is so nervous and spills it on her and himself. They both go to the bathroom to clean each other up and suddenly Thomas gets really close to Emily and hugs her really close, looks her in the eyes and..I can’t tell you the end. Ha-ha. I think it’s amazing how you can like someone and just change something from your look and suddenly your crush almost kisses you
such a fun book to read, had some interesting twists to it, can't wait to read the second one.
