This book is amazing. For anyone who has suffered child sexual abuse or rape, or knows someone who has, this book is an absolute necessity. This book really does a great job of teaching you that it was not your fault that it happened. And, it helps you redirect your anger for what happened in a positive and healthy way. And, finally, it helps you accept it all and move on by forgiving the person who abused you. Because, ultimately, you must accept what happened and forgive that person so you can move on with your life. I highly recommend it. I think this is a good processing book for people who've been sexually abused. However, I don't necessarily agree with everything in it. It can be a hard read and trigger some people. Now I noticed some people talked about their therapist leading them. Get as far away as possible from them. A good therapist will not do that. Mine certainly does not. When you are being led you have to question yourself and some of the memories. Not necessarily that something didn't happen, but added stuff that didn't. Or seriously nothing. I was sexually abused by my father from what I can remember starting at age 5 onwards. Get the workbook too. I have Complex PTSD as well. Since it didn't end with my father. So all in all I think this and the workbook are good tools to do processing, but can be tough as hell.

While I can see the value for individuals who are dealing with their abuse for the first time, I found this added nothing to the process for me, and did not provide answers or solutions I had no already tried. I also found the writing almost condescending and childlike, and fairly simplistic. Again, this may work for others, but I was disappointed with this book as it came recommended from a number of sources.
