The Crucible Of Doubt: Reflections On The Quest For Faith (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
This a wonderful book showing that the Gospel is more encompassing than many have supposed. I agree with an earlier review which referred to Terryl and Fiona as two of the greatest thinkers in Mormonism. Will help many members going through a faith crisis as well as those open to looking at the Church and our culture through a new lens. Not your typical Deseret Book fare. I'm thrilled that they would publish it. D&C:13 To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world. 14 To others it is given to believe on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful.I am one who was blessed with the gift to know and I read this book so that I could be of service to those who might believe on my words, my testimony.I've always believed that doubt was a gift because questions properly and prayerfully searched bring answers that may never have been found in any other way. And a faith that is stronger for the exercise of it. What I found in this book was insight that helped me to better understand myself and, I hope, others as well. This book is dog eared and highlighted, the sign of a well loved book. And I have a list of friends waiting for their turn.
