The Cursing Mommy's Book Of Days (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
There were many chuckles in this book--the children's snowman, school repairs, the cursing mom's beverage choices, etc. I identified with her method of "keeping it all together" by beginning each entry with an inspirational quote, then as her day unfolded, she began unraveling until she became the Cursing Mom. By about August of her journal, I was beginning to lose interest, but I wanted to find out what happens with the Boss/Client and her husband's capacitors. Easy, quick read. Clever. I liked this book more than the isolated Cursing Mommy columns in the New Yorker. The best part was the mandatory service to the school that all families were expected to perform. In our era of underfunded public schools, it rang true. (At my school we've just been informed that a cleaning company won't be hired to wax the floors this summer; instead, "a limited number of in-house people" will do it.)
What do You think about The Cursing Mommy's Book Of Days (2012)?
