The Earl's Inconvenient Wife (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

The book was okay. But especially in the beginning I had some trouble keeping track of who was saying what. The story in itself wasn't bad although it was obviously not very realistic as these stories often are. What bothered me was the boring dialog between h and H and how uninteresting the heroine was when left to her own devices. What I liked was that they both were young and that the hero was inexperienced instead of the "older experienced hero" you usually find in historical romance. Summary TeaseThe main character Nathaniel Buford is forced to find a wife after his brother died. As a result of his brother’s death, he becomes the Earl of Roderick. As the Earl of Roderick it is one of his responsibilities to create a legitimate heir, meaning that he has to find a wife in a very short amount of time. To find a wife he must attend the dreadful marriage market. He meets many, many women, who are desperate to find a husband, who has a title and lots of money. As a result of being caught with a woman named Claire Lowell, he is somewhat tricked into to an unwanted marriage, to avoid a scandalous situation. It is one of Claire’s dreams to find a husband during her first season. Unfortunately for her, her new husband believes that she only wanted to marry him for his money, because of her family history. Her father’s eagerness to have her married is the main reason why there are any suspicions.Who might be interested in this book? Why?You might be interested in this book if you enjoy books with romance, plus a hint of mystery, a historical setting, and a trail of unfortunate events leading to an unexpected plot twist. You might also be interested in this book if you find overly dramatic books interesting. The author will occasionally go overboard with her usage of adjectives, in attempt to compensate for her ignorance, in certain areas. For the majority of the book it is very hard to tell that she, the author, doesn’t know what she is talking about, in certain sections.Overall SatisfactionI found the book very interesting, because of its intense family drama. With the loss of a brother, I was surprised to find that the former Earl of Roderick was not mention very often. Occasionally, I would find that, the obvious tension between Nathaniel Buford and Mr. Lowell, was somewhat amusing. The consistent arguments between this diverse group of characters should be enough to keep anyone interested in reading it. I found that this book is not always appropriate for school because of the womanizer like habits that Nathaniel possess.

What do You think about The Earl's Inconvenient Wife (2012)?

DNF. Really, really bad. Was this written by a 7th grader? I can see why it was free.
