I read this really fast . . . it was such an interesting protagonist, who wasn't perfect and the second book has so much potential. I recommend this book to anyone who reads. It's sci-fi, but more novel than anything. It could be a series on Netflix with all its missions and plot twists. The reasons I'd like to see that is for viewers to 1 learn about history, 2 see how fashions evolved throughout the years (which the fun the cast will have filming will shine on camara) and 3 Iris' badass! ... Imagine Bruce Willis and Michelle Rodriguez had a baby and is a junior in CIA high . . . Yea. I recommend it.Do keep in mind it's written in her point of view, a junior in high school, and that McCardle succeeds in capturing just that. Don't expect quotes that'll solve your life's problems and fish. Fly through for the thrill of the events taking place and if you feel like smacking Iris it's probably because she needs to grow up. Well written. I personally feel like if she'd been perfect then the story would of never played out in the thrilling way it unfolds. McCardle invites you in to take a seat and get comfortable and then takes off at 100 MPH. I recommend it. I have not read such a good action in a long time, and I have read a lot of books, but this one...I was up until 3AM because i just could not put it down, until i knew whats gonna happen next, and how its gonna end. I love history, and this book got me from 200 years back to 200 years up. If you love good action, a lot of tension, and not knowing whats gonna happen next...its a book foor you.Cant wait for the next one :)5++++ stars :)))
