The Eternity Code (2006) - Plot & Excerpts

Nick EltjesFloresAP Lang Period: 512/18/14The Eternity CodetThe plot of this book was like any other fiction book that you would read. It had your basic antagonist portrayed by Opal Koboi and protagonist portrayed by Artemis Fowl. It had a conflict, which eventually was resolved by the end of the book. Overall, the plot made sense and looking back on the book I was able to understand how the events were connected. tThe story takes place all over the world and in a world underneath the crust of the earth, specifically in a town called Haven City. Having two settings in a book that coincide but are unaware of each other, allows Eoin colfer to create events that provide unexpected twists that keep the book interesting. The setting was important to the plot because it created difficulties with the fairies trying to keep their world a secret from the humans. The unexpected twists in the story made it a little difficult to follow the plot at times, but after reading the whole book you can see how it all connects together. tArtemis Fowl and Holly Short are the main characters in the story. Although the thought of pixies and extremely rich genius kids are a little far stretched, you can relate to their basic emotions and qualities. Both characters grew and changed as people and pixies throughout the book. At the beginning of the book Artemis was a very selfish, self-centered, greedy boy. By the end of the book he had become a more compassionate person that cared more about people than he did about money. Holly Short was a likeable character from the beginning of the book. You could relate to her character sometimes better than you could with Artemis because of her down to earth and caring personality.tThe author’s tone could be debated, but I felt like he was being advisory. He made sure to talk about Artemis’ character in great depth in the beginning and end of the book. I think his tone reflected this so that the readers would learn a lesson from the story. He was giving the reader advice to not be like Artemis in the beginning of the book, but to be more like his character at the end of the book. tI will tell you right now that this book is not for everyone. Many people may not like the far fetched fantasy that is found all throughout the book. If you are not a person that is very imaginative and has read other books of similar topic then this book is not for you. This book is for the people that enjoy fantasy novels and have read other books like this one. There are many things in this book that would confuse and frustrate you if you haven't read fantasy books before.tI would not recommend this book because of the very limited percent of people that enjoy reading fantasy novels. The majority of people would not enjoy reading this type of literature. Now, if you are person that enjoys reading fantasy, I would highly recommend this book and encourage you to read it and the rest of the series.

...he..no ¬¬)Bueno...¿puntuación? 5/5 y e mi mundo 7 castillos de 7 MAGNIFICO

Artemis Fowl and the eternity code Eoin Colfer In this book Artemis Fowl decides to pull off one more job before Fowl Enterprise becomes a 100% legal company. So he steals fairy(which are another species) technology and creates a device that can hack any other device. So he decides to let a wealthy business man named John Spiro borrow it for a year to clear his record and get rich, but things don't go according to plan and Spiro takes the cube and injures Artemis butler fatally. So Artemis must convince the fairy captain to heal his butler and help him steal the cube back. I thought this book was good but one thing i didn't like was the humor it was basically a bunch of fart jokes but that wasn't that much of an issue. I liked the ending because Spiro got what he deserved and everything ended well for Artemis and Butler. Its a science fiction book and I recommend it to young adults. Overall this is a great book and i recommend you read it.
—Petar Kolev

Summary: fast paced action, a little humor, the gang is back. Artemis Fowl gets in trouble trying to use fairy technology to land some cash in a scheme that causes all kinds of serious mayhem. He and the fairies have to work together to prevent the clash of worlds. What I appreciate about Eoin Colfer is that his books don't change from juvenile to adult fiction halfway through the series like some other series out there. My boys have more leisure time and read ahead of me, so with the Artemis Fowl series I don't have to slow them down while I get around to previewing it.
