The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos And The Age Of Amazon (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
Amazon is not a fairy tale story. Jeff Bezos has to raise almost $100.000 from his own parents, his employees have to work day and night until they have no world beside Amazon and their bedroom. There is an interesting case where an Amazon employee has his car being charged, moved into federal institution, and get auctioned, while he know nothing about that.Amazon also show a different business models, if we compare, for example, to the retail bookstores. As a customer I love Amazon. As a student of business I love Amazon. What a remarkable company and CEO. I was not, however, especially excited to read this book as I have read so much over the years about its history. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed Brad Stone's journalistic chops and ability to tell the broad story and balance the personalities and mini-dramas that led Amazon to today. Fascinating stuff.
