People didn’t tend to pack heavy when running for your life was a standard skill in the way driving had once been. He saw them out and watched until they were out of sight. Just not this group. Margin for error was slim. While Kell and Jo cooled off in the lab, Mason pulled Hal and Judith to the table and woke Lee. He laid out an easy if uninspiring breakfast of dried meat and leftover bread. There was jam, however. “Emily, what’s our next step?” he asked. Everyone in the group looked to her, which caused a slow flush to creep up her neck.
