I really should read descriptions more but I have to disagree this is not a stand alone sequel. I think you really need to read the first book before you read this (I haven't) there is a lot referenced back and I think probably a lot of the character development went on in the first book and therefore you don't feel that you really know the characters when you read this as there is a lot of reference back to the situations in book 1 and if you haven't read it you miss out on the back plot.I really think this could have been a 5 star book, it won awards but because I hadn't read the prequel it wasn't a great experience for me MY THOUGHTS....The Family Trap is the stand-alone sequel to "Can't Live Without."I can't say I didn't like this book, I just didn't like it as much as "Can't Live Without." This book was very predictable from the first paragraph to the last paragraph. It got a bit annoying as the story went on and everything that happened somehow or another included Stella and her bellyaching. She always seemed to think that everything revolved around her and her stupidity. She just couldn't seem to be happy for anyone else because of her feelings and never once took into account their feelings. It was always poor Stella and all the misunderstanding surrounding her made from her own doings and stupidity.Sorry to say as much as I enjoyed "Can't Live Without" this book was a BIG disappointment. It is a part of my Kindle library a freebie I got on Bookbub.com so at least it was no money lost just a day of my time. I guess I will award the story 2 'Trapped' stars.
