The Flesh Cartel #15: Twenty-Five (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

This review and rating are for the complete serial, rather than just this chapter of it.If you enjoy watching an auto accident and hoping someone survived, regardless of the carnage you saw, then perhaps you will enjoy this series. Mat and Doug are great, and feeling indignant and caring enough about what happened to them are what got me through this series, as the first half to two-thirds is that accident that you think no one will survive, and after that a sliver of hope shows up that perhaps something will survive. One thing I did like about the series is that it attempted to portray the issues that resulted from the treatment Mat and Doug endured, rather than wrapping it all up at an earlier point. If you can't tolerate non-con, rape, bdsm, or slave-fic, then I would suggest avoiding this title, but if you can steel yourself to deal with those, go for it. Main Characters:Mat Carmichael - A MMA fighter who has escaped from a sex slaver groupNate Johnson - FBI agent who wants to help Mat bring down the CartelSynopsis:Mat allows himself to be recaptured so he will be taken back to Nikolai. The goal is to lead the FBI to Nikolai's training facility and force his complaince to the plan that will bring down the Cartel and get Dougie back.My Thoughts:This is the last season of this serial and it opened with a wonderfully strong episode. Mat is the epitome of a hero and has more bravery that most people could ever possess. Nate is providing great support to Mat and I am really excited that Mat has a possible opportunity for an HEA. Sounds like things are pretty rough for Dougie right now and I am very curious as to how things will ultimately work out for him. I am vainly hoping (at least I suspect it is vainly) that Nikolai winds up being tortured to death by the Cartel or Allen or somebody.
