I really liked the way the author spun such a vivid story conjuring up images of the days of when Arthur and Merlin were alive. This story is basically a sweet story of first love with Sam her childhood friend and outgrowing that to find a love where she can't imagine her life without Blake though fate conspires against her. Whilst the story was a bit predictable and slow at times I did enjoy reading it and no grammatical errors were obvious. The lack of sex and language makes it very appealing for the younger teenagers and towards the ending the battle scene added some tension and angst. I would consider buying the next book in the series. Other than liking the synopsis, one of the reasons I bought this eBook is the cover, it just looks so peaceful and serene and as you know I’m a sucker for a good cover. When I started reading the story I have to admit I felt a bit confused about what was actually happening and why. The story is based on Arthurian legends and follows Mina, a typical British college student who finds herself inexplicably falling in love with the new boy. What she doesn’t know is that he is a Knight of The Realm and falling for him is about to take her to places she never thought possible.I felt that Mina wasn’t as surprised as she should have been to discover The Realm, she didn’t seem at all shocked or confused which I found hard to believe. The Realm itself is written in a magical and mysterious way and the descriptions made it easy for me to picture the places that I was reading about. It was an exciting read with lots of adventure but there were funny parts too, I found myself laughing at the way Mina’s mum gave her a lecture about her choice in boys near the end of the story. I thought the ending was very sad, I really felt for Mina and this just made me more keen to read the next book in the trilogy.
What do You think about The Forest Of Adventures (2000)?
Loved it! Katie M. John writes in a style that makes you really feel what the character is feeling.
