The French Gardener is beautifully written and I adored Montefiore's prose and skillful storytelling. She wove together past and present story lines with seamless ease, bringing the characters to life in a way that I found myself still thinking of them a week later. All the same, I just couldn't love this book; I had an aversion to its strong theme of adultery, thus only 2 stars. I look forward to reading other books by this talented author. Just lovely......love the way this author writes ...so beautifully descriptive writing.knew i was going to like this book but did not appreciate how much and how it drew me in every word and phrase just transported me to this beautiful place and its magic...love the characters and how they all weave there own special magic through the pages of this book...Totally recommend and top prize for a really amazing read..x
I didn't hate it, and parts were lovely, and of course I cried at the end.
