An inspiring book with some good points to keep in mind after reading the book. However, I thought the structure within the chapters was unclear and I would have liked a little more background (references to research, thoughts on the topic from experts etc ) to the overall story since the writer works in academia. To me the book seemed not finished yet in this respect. Perhaps the cover can be more clear that this book is really just the writer's own thoughts and experiences. Lastly, I noticed how often the author pointed out that she worked in academia and she talked a lot about how she was and is doing research but it did not really always seemed relevant and it got repetitive to me (it gave me the impression she tried so establish some kind of authority while the book was actually more of a personal book). Quick but deep read. Nothing shocking, but an excellent compilation of the things we know (or ought to know) and yet never quite embrace. I think this is one of those books that will sneak up on me--the deeper truths and the sly inspiration will ambush me and I'll be profoundly changed.I look forward to it--were I to live this way, I would be a different (and far, far better) woman. I think I would like her quite a bit.
And now to go through from front to back again, reading all my notes along the way. I thought of one person after another who could also benefit from this book. It's great to read something backed by years and years of research, with concepts one can recognize as relevant (and in so many different kinds of situations!) and then immediately act upon.An absolutely must read for Americans.
