I could not put this book down. Once the birthday party was taken as hostages it was just surprise after suspense after chaos. I loved the duel perspectives with Ariel and Sera and the mystery of the real mastermind behind these events; which the answer was someone I would have never suspected. The only thing was that Hudson got a little annoying at times, always needing to be at Sera's side. Even though this book is extremely gory, it is an amazing thriller that sustained my attention until the end. This book was interesting through out and held my attention. The hostage situation was tense and I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next. I liked the growing relationship of Sera and Hudson. Ariel's growing feelings for the gardener seemed forced. The alternating point of view between Sera and Ariel was a little confusing at times. I was so caught up in the story, that I wouldn't notice the new chapter, and would lose track of who was narrating. This book does seem a little too violent for younger kids, but high school and up should enjoy it.
