I loved this book!I first read this last summer as a 'novel' then I facilated a women's Bible study in my home and I thought a book about a woman in the Bible would be a great place to begin. There were 12 women who signed up and we all loved the book, the ease of the 'homework' and of coarse the DVD teaching by Liz Curtis Higgs. We finished this book the first week of May 2014.Side note .. I just returned from a trip to Scotland and guess who the hostess was? None other than Liz Curtis Higgs herself. What a blessing. I had known for a year I was going on this trip and counted down the months. About two weeks before I was to leave with a group of 40+ other women I received an email ... the teaching Liz was going to do was on the Book of Ruth! Oh my ... sitting under her in person teaching was a huge blessing. You will not be disappointed if you read this as a stand alone book, as a personal study, or in a small group of women. You will not be disappointed! (Don't forget to get the DVD teaching because you'll love how she really draws you into the story). What a delightful, sweet book. It gave me reasons to rejoice for what God has done and continues to do in my own life. It gave me instruction on how to love, obey and serve in a way that honors God. Through Liz's eyes, I saw myself in Naomi and a desire to be more like Ruth. It also made me fall just a little in love with Boaz! So, my list of desired qualities in a man just became very simple..... To be a man of God with the character of Boaz!
Interesting, although a little boring at times. It dragged on a little too much.

As a read through, it was enjoyable. As a Bible study, it is lacking.
