I really enjoy Cozy mysteries and Heather Blake's Wishcrafter series is one of my favorite. The setting of the Enchanted Village is so magical that I find myself wishing I could actually visit there. The Goodbye Witch is the fourth book in this series and once again finds Darcy in the middle of a murder investigation, this time involving her best friend Starla, whose ex husband is found dead in her house. The situation is complicated because Darcy's hunky boyfriend is also the Police Chief. This imaginative tale is full of magic and spells and animals that are familiars - all of which draw the reader into this fairytale place with many wonderful characters. I found that this book evoked many emotions, and actually made me laugh and cry! I look forward to the next installment. Heather Blake's latest book in her Wish Craft series is, (as the kids would say), " the bomb". Darcy is a loving, caring witch, who always seems to be in the middle of village problem. Maybe that's why her boyfriend, Sheriff Nick, (who happens to be a mortal) wishes that Darcy would mind her own business. This time it's her BFF Starla who seems to be in trouble. Even though Darcy and her sister Harper have lived in the Enchanted Village, near Salem, Ma. about a year Darcy has all ready stepped in and helped several residents. After the death of their father, the girls came to the village to live and work with their Aunt Ve, in her shop, As You Wish. Harper decides to open a shop of her own thus a book store comes to town. With a village full of witches how does the sheriff keep any peace there? Being a mortal, and widower, whose 12 year old daughter happens to be a witch, he does his best to protect everyone in the village.Heather has kept me spell bound in the Enchanted Village. All of the enchanting people, and the enchanting tales just serve to make this enchanting series so popular. My recommendation to all of you is to pick up a Wish Craft book and lose yourself in this enchanting series by the ever enchanting Heather Blake.FTC Full Disclosure - A copy of this book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.
What do You think about The Goodbye Witch (2000)?
This is my latest "warm and fuzzy" series. Entertaining, bit of a mystery, but no stress.
