The Halo Chronicles: The Guardian (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
I am...16 pages into this book and have had to put it down a few times because I felt braincells dying. Really? Really, this book is reviewed so well! But I find the writing to be expected of a 15 year old (is the writer 15?) and 16 pages in she cant even speak because she's so enamored with a guy with painfully cliched features? I swear to God - Gabriel is explained exactly nearly word for word as Edward Cullen and Christian Grey....are they brothers?! And really? the cliche sleaze teacher and that whole scene? Does this book actually get better or can I expect the protagonist to be a complete basket case the entire story? And that scene where Gabriel is introduced? It was so painfully, excruciating, stupidly, cliched. A bunch of guys surrounding the new girl giving her grief about the weird cliched scene with the cliched sleazy teacher? that...actually legitimately cant happen. I mean, I believe in seeing good and evil halos over a scene like that ever having merit. cliche cliche cliche....and badly written. I want to keep trying. but I mean, I think I'd prefer to scrub my toilets and iron a pile of clothing.I read ALL FOUR Twilights and the first 50 shades. This is so much worse!!! WOW!!! This book was awesome!! if i loved Angels hundreds, now I love them millions! I loved the storyline and the characters...I wish its ending was more cheerful. I was touched by the sacrifice of the Seraph Gabriel...his mortal body died in the arms of his beloved girl Alexia. I was so moved by the whole forbidden love and its terrible ending. The book is definately one of my favorites and I will read it again of course in the future!!!
What do You think about The Halo Chronicles: The Guardian (2011)?
This reminds me a lot of the Heavenly series, but I am hoping it ends up differently.
