The Ice Captain's Daughter (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
The Ice Captain's Daughter is a historical romance novella. It is an enjoyable and clean story with likable characters. I enjoyed getting to know Jillian. She was a strong but also compassionate woman. Every mother wants Logan for her daughter and unlike most of these kinds of books, Logan did not take advantage of his popularity. That was refreshing. I did, however, feel that his character fell short of what I expected for Jillian. This is a quick sweet story where everyone has a happy ending. I don't want to give anything away, but I liked the epilogue. A quick hook at the beginning gets the reader right into Jillian's story. She soon meets Logan and away we go! While enjoyable, I thought both Jillian and Logan could have been written with more depth of character. I would have liked to see Logan as more of a hero for Jillian. This book is an intriguing mix of characters. I appreciated the back story which came up off and on throughout the book to the very end. I also appreciated the positive relationship between Jillian and her aunt. This is a very clean romance so anyone of any age can enjoy it
