The Last Time I Saw Paris (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

A quick, somewhat interesting read, but overall it was just okay. Main character wasn't really developed, could never figure out who she really was as a person. The author seemed to insert events into the story to move the plot along since Claire never appeared to have a game plan or did she seem to actively participate in her own life. She seemed to just wait for things to happen to her and then react. Who really goes to Paris on a moment's notice, oblivious to the war tensions throughout Europe, conveniently find strangers to give her a ride when her train ticket is stolen, conveniently stumbles upon a stranger who offers her both a job and a place to live... and all this within a day. Really? I didn't think I would enjoy this book at the beginning as I thought Claire's use of her sexuality was a bit much and I couldn't believe that she didn't know what she was getting into going to Europe/France at the time she did. However, once she became connected to the flower shop, and subsequently the Resistance, the story picked up for me. I still felt that much of the plot was implausible (like the end!), but I enjoyed it.
